Review: Tyde Podz by Rythm
As always, my favorite cannabis products to review are new strains coming into Illinois. So when I noticed Rythm had cultivated Tyde Podz, bred by Lit Farms, I drove down to RISE Effingham to pick up an eighth to review.
Tyde Podz is an indica dominant cross of The SOAP (Animal Mints x Kush Mints) and Cherry Cheesecake (Cherry Pie x Kimbo Kush). This batch tested at 27.45% THCa, 0.66% THC, 0.53% CBGa, and 28.10% total cannabinoids. The primary terpenes included limonene, β-caryophyllene, linalool, α-pinene, and β-pinene.

The thumb-tip spade-shaped sized buds were light green with darker green and purple mixed in with the orange pistils. The creamy trichomes covering each buds faded the colors a shade lighter.
GTITyde Podz aroma struck with minty soap, creamy kush, earthy fruit, herbal lacquer, and sweet pine. The flavor delivered a similar profile with a heavy dose of kushy mint mixed with a sweet pine on the inhale, followed by earthy soap that faded into a sweet cream. The exhale started with a minty soap, sweet kush, and earthy pine but ended with an interesting cherry spice, skunky berries, and a sweet creamy mint that coated the aftertaste.

The potent effects started with a head rush shortly after the first exhale. The extremely quick onset kicked off a heavy feeling around the eyes and the crown of the head. Though the heaviness in the head could be felt throughout the buzz, the head high stayed relatively balanced and clearheaded. Mental lapses and thought wandering, though, slipped in and out with heavier doses.
Tyde Podz body buzz onset lagged way behind the head high. Once activated, though, the body buzz built quickly and seemed to weigh down my arms and legs more than my torso. The overall body buzz became heavier with more doses, and a strong muscle and joint relaxation settled in but did not keep me couchlocked.

Toward the end of the buzz, mental and physical sedation became a little more dominant but never “knocked me out” to where I couldn’t function. Most of the buzz, I was in a perpetually chill state mentally and physically. Near the end of the buzz, Tyde Podz also boosted my appetite enough to take time and effort to make a snack. Eventually, Tyde Podz readied me for bed and a good night sleep.
The overall buzz was strong but balanced, and I medicated with Tyde Podz mostly in the evenings and nights for relaxation and unwinding while watching television or listening to music. A couple of times, I dosed late at night while trying to finish a project, and Tyde Podz delivered a heavy buzz that still allowed me to plow through work and then decompress shortly after.
