Review: Wrecking Ball by Bedford Grow
As mentioned in my last review of Yellow Brick Road, Bedford Grow has recently launched several new sativa strains, and because I prefer energetic and motivating strains to help me plow through a busy workday, I picked up from Springfield Maribis a couple more strains to review for our Work Sativa series. This review is of Bedford Grow’s new in-house strain, Wrecking Ball.
Wrecking Ball is a sativa-leaning cross of Headwrecker (Chemdawg and Sour Diesel) and Tang Tang (a Blue Sonja descendant). This batch tested at 0.62% THC, 17.35% THCa, and 18.67% total cannabinoids. Primary terpenes included β-myrcene, α-pinene, limonene, β-caryophyllene, and β-pinene. The next secondary terpenes included three I like to see on the test: α-terpineol, endo-fenchyl alcohol, and α-bisabolol.
The dense spade-shaped buds were light green with bright orange pistils and covered in white trichomes. The aroma from the jar hit with notes of hops, sweet diesel, spicy citrus, herbs, and skunk.
On the front end of the inhale, the flavor delivered heavier chemmy citrus and spicy diesel with hints of sweet berry and herbs. The back end of the inhale added earthy spice with more citrus and diesel. The exhale first provided a sour citrus and sweet diesel but quickly transitions to an earthy spice mixed with citrus and diesel.
Usually, I recommend Bedford Grow sativa strains for those who like the energy but not the raciness. And Bedford Grow sativa strains often are not as clearheaded as I want my Work Sativa, but Wrecking Ball (and Yellow Brick Road) is probably one of the Bedford Grow strains that best fit our Work Sativa series.
The effects start with a quick onset blast of cerebral creativity, motivation, and euphoria. The long-lasting head high continues with energy and focus but not without heaviness in the base of the head and behind the eyes. The clearheaded focus waned with more doses, and the head high finished with that heavy stony feeling that kept me in a happy state without drowsiness.
The body buzz took more time to settle in, but once it did, my muscles slowly relaxed with a buzz that became heavier and heavier. The full-body buzz allowed me to chill physically while mentally getting work done or decompressing with video games or watching television series. The body buzz was heavy but not debilitating.
I also was able to walk around a campus town, eat at a couple places, and talk to family and strangers, all while feeling upbeat and positive about the adventure. Wrecking Ball could easily fit into my Work Sativa rotation for busy workdays, upbeat evenings and nights, and social events. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
