Review: Yellow Brick Road by Bedford Grow
Bedford Grow has recently launched several more new strains in flower. I picked up to review five new ones from Springfield Maribis, including three sativa, a sativa-leaning hybrid, and an indica. This is the exact ration of sativa to indica I smoke during the day, mostly sativa for 4/5 of the day and one strong indica at night. Though I already reviewed Yellow Brick Road Live Badder, I wanted to try the flower for comparison.
Yellow Brick Road is a sativa cross of Ghost Train Haze and Oz Kush BX1. As mentioned in the Yellow Brick Road Live Badder review, Ghost Train Haze is one of my favorite Work Sativa of all time, and Oz Kush BX1 is one of my favorite sativa-leaning strains from Bedford Grow.
This eighth tested at 20.77% THCa and 0.23% THC. The primary terpenes were limonene, β-myrcene, terpinolene, and β-caryophyllene. Secondary terpenes included terpinolene, β-pinene, α-pinene, and linalool. The eighth came as two huge hand-trimmed buds and three smaller ones. The heavy trichomed buds were light green with long bright orange pistils flaring out.
The aroma was a mix of kushy pine, hops, gas, citrus, and sweet lavender. The flavor carried more citrus, creamy kush, and diesel with notes of skunky pine, especially on the front end of the inhale. The back end of the inhale was coated with creamy lavender and gassy citrus, as well as skunk, kush, and a touch of spice.
The effects delivered the energetic motivational cerebral high I wanted and expected, though the concentration did wane at times, especially with extra doses. The cerebral blast kicked of early, and heaviness set upper crown of the head. The energetic buzz helped fight mental and physical fatigue and allowed me to work for hours straight.
The body buzz was somewhat of a creeper. The onset started slow, but the body buzz built to a peak much later than expected. The full body buzz, though, was heavy and focused in the extremities with muscle relaxation without sedation. I completed mental and physical tasks, and enjoyed the strain equally while chilling.
As with the concentrate, Yellow Brick Road flower also was great for binging television series, gaming, socialize, and surprisingly for an energetic sativa, as an appetite booster. Yellow Brick Road definitely fits our Work Sativa series for its cerebral high and body buzz that lent well for productivity and activities. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
