SIUC to host annual Hemp/Cannabis Symposium
Southern Illinois University Carbondale is scheduled to host the 2nd annual Southern Illinois Hemp/Cannabis Symposium Saturday, March 26.
The Hemp/Cannabis Symposium, established by SIUC’s Cannabis Science Center, is set for in-person events on the Carbondale campus with a virtual option for the convenience of non-local attendees. Virtual attendance is streaming of the speaker sessions only.

The symposium runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a continental breakfast and lunch included and will be geared towards those in the Cannabis industry with medical and recreational hemp/Cannabis interests.
Sessions include information on laws, regulations, and the establishments of standards in the Cannabis industry. Experts will discuss the status of delta-8 THC and research on the use of cannabinoids in treatment of COVID-19 and cancer.
The keynote speakers are experts in the field, and they will offer details regarding the latest research and practices.
A wide variety of exhibitors will also participate, and vendors will be onsite to demonstrate advances in production technologies, as well as end products for the consumer.
The symposium is a resource for anyone with an interest in or connection with organic hemp/cannabis production.
