Staffing shortages decrease Illinois dispensary hours
Though the Illinois cannabis industry has been immune to many problems caused by a two-year pandemic, the “staffing shortage related to COVID-19” has caught up to Illinois dispensaries.
The shortage has become enough of an issue for dispensaries that the Illinois Department of Public Health Division of Medical Cannabis (IDPH) delivered after 5 p.m. today via email the “IMPORTANT message.”
The email stated, “Many dispensaries are temporarily decreasing hours due to staffing shortages related to COVID-19. Patients are advised to call ahead to the dispensary to check on their hours of operation. IDPH does not have access to the most up to date hours of each dispensary and cannot answer when they will open. As a reminder, curb side pickup is allowed at any medical dispensary.”
The email ended with a note about continuing “to take COVID-19 precautions to protect yourself and your family” and a link to quarantine and COVID-19 guidance on the IDPH website.
