The Elevated News Podcast bolsters cannabis community19
I recently joined The Elevated News Podcast crew (for Episode 86) to discuss the Illinois cannabis industry, along with the News Joint Scholarship fundraiser Texas Hold’em tournament set for May 17. The Elevated News Podcast is hosted by Two Dope Dudes (Aaron Hillock and Dave Cope) and can be found on YouTube, Apple podcast, Spotify, and other streaming.
The Two Dope Dudes’ goal for The Elevated News Podcast is “to reach as many people as we can and spread the good news and capabilities of cannabis and its community.” Hillock and Cope have personally seen, as well as experienced, the benefits of properly growing and using cannabis. Hillock is a MCPP caregiver and medicinal grower, and Cope has worked in the cannabis industry since before adult-use legalization.
“With [our background], we felt we had some unique takes on the industry and market, so in June of 2023, we started recording The Elevated News podcast,” Hillock said. “We believe in its (cannabis’) healing benefits and want to help as many people as we can take their own health back into their own hands.”
Cope state, “We believe that supporting the dope people doing dope things will bolster the community while ultimately spreading the good news of this plant.”
The Elevated News Podcast self-described style is educational with a side of quality unscripted conversation.
“We really just like having organic conversation with our guests,” Hillock said. “We have ideas of what we want to talk about, but we don’t want it to feel fake or forced, so we don’t script many questions regularly.”
“Organic conversation will just go where it goes” Cope added. “We try to stay on track but are not mad if we veer off.”
The Two Dope Dudes’ first guest was Mr. CBD, a.k.a. Mark Kunicki.
“Mark is a great friend and has supported us since the very beginning of the podcast,” Hillock said. “His business and now the Honeycomb Hideout provide people with education about hemp and health, and they even sell hemp seed oil and superfoods.”
