Review: Wedding Cake by Verano
One Illinois strain I’d been looking forward to reviewing was Wedding Cake by Verano. Wedding Cake, also known as Pink Cookies, is an indica-leaning hybrid strain with a balanced high and strong genetics. It is a cross of a mother Triangle Kush with Animal Mints pollen and is labeled as a phenotype of Triangle Mints, JB cut.
Wedding Cake is often listed on Illinois dispensary menus with THC levels in the high twenties. A couple weeks ago I noticed Wedding Cake listed on NuMed’s menu that clocked in at 31.208% THC. The colorful dense buds were frosty with purple leaves and orange hairs and a high concentration of trichomes. Once I opened the container, I thought I had accidentally grabbed my Jet Fuel container because of Wedding Cake’s pungent and dynamic aroma of sweet diesel, vanilla cake frosting, and earthy ammonia. Wedding Cake’s taste was just as dynamic with notes of a sugary vanilla and tangy fruit flavors for an overall creamy inhale. The exhale was also sweet and creamy and finished with a slight earthy tone.
This strain’s well-rounded high starts quickly and first takes hold in the head. On the front end of the high, Wedding Cake had the energetic happy high, especially if active. As the buzz continued, the indica kicked in and relaxed and soothed my body aches and had an overall calming effect. With more doses, the strain added more physical relaxation and mental calmness and eventually made me tired enough to eat and sleep. I definitely recommend Wedding Cake for those who love a dynamic taste and a balanced high.
