Variety of Illinois cannabis events expands culture
For the last few years, we have been tracking and adding an increasing number of cannabis-related events to our Events Calendar, and with more yearly and monthly events come even more variety. Expect that variety to expand even further in future.
In the last couple months, we have attended several events from Afroman concert to Great Harvest 2023, and we are scheduled to attend The Herban Legend Cup next week. The variety of these three larger events alone is only the tip of the iceberg. Monthly events also are adding different themes, styles, and formats to the lineup. For example, OKAY Consumption Lounge recently added a schedule for its array of upcoming events.
OKAY Consumption Lounge had sixteen events schedule for October alone. The range of those events includes tarot readings, movie nights, painting nights, bong making popups, bingo, yoga, live comedians, and speed dating. In addition, the lounge televises the Bulls, Blackhawks, Cubs, and Bears games. The consumption lounge also is adjoined to a bakery and cocktail bar.
Illinois continues to add a variety of conferences and bigger events, including some that have become annual. NECANN has just scheduled its 4th annual Illinois event for May 31-June 1, 2024, and the Annual SIUC Cannabis Science Center Hemp Symposium will be back for its fifth year. In addition, we have been informed about a couple different styles of “Cannafest” events coming next year. We expect and encourage the variety of events to only expand in 2024 and are looking forward to these new spaces for the Illinois cannabis industry.
