Vote for your favorite News Joint Original Meme
I have created dozens and dozens of original memes for Illinois News Joint. Most of them get tossed in a “not good enough” folder and forgotten about. For the more than twenty memes (and growing number of Groverbs) that make the cut, I publish and share with little to no fanfare, which I don’t mind whatsoever. However, I now am asking our readers and followers to vote for their favorite News Joint Meme from the first five listed on our Original Memes page.
The memes to choose from include
1. Working in the Cannabis Industry
2. Ralph Wiggum the Cannabis Influencer
3. Charles Dankens, Tale of Two Colas
4. Farmer’s Hidden Plants
5. When Bonnie Goes Shopping
Please indulge us and let us know which is your top News Joint Memes. Vote on our Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook postings by listing the number and/or title of the meme.
As mentioned, I create memes for me, as a creative outlet. I prefer to create memes from a spark of personal creativity and not from other’s actions or trends. I am often asked what goes into the creation of our memes. In general, I have five rules for creating original memes for Illinois News Joint.
- The meme has to entertain me. If I think the meme is funny and/or entertaining and delivers what I want for an original meme, I truly don’t care if others enjoy the meme or not.
- To entertain me, memes usually have to be funny, offbeat, eccentric, void of clichés, and/or esoteric, but most importantly, I want our memes to be unique, unexpected, and creative. Plus, we really enjoy satirical backhands.
- I don’t follow or chase meme trends. I won’t hop onto “trending” memes or rehash worn-out memes that everyone is plastering across social media.
- I don’t force the creation of memes on a schedule. When the germ of the idea hits me, I write it down and see where it goes from there.
- I create and design each meme from scratch. It takes too much time and usually is not worth the time. But Memes are a creative outlet for me that most of publishing Illinois News Joint does not supply.
