Can O’ Comedy offers unique cannabis experience
One of the most interesting aspects of covering the still-relatively-new Illinois cannabis industry is finding businesses that fill a unique space that never existed until now. Can O’ Comedy Inc., based out of Irving Park, is one of those new businesses carving out its own cannabis brand.
Can O’ Comedy Founder, Stoner Nataly, had wanted to start her own business and, of course, follow her passions. So she created a new space in the Illinois cannabis industry with elements she thought would best “help her cause” and also find a way to make it her own by “bringing together two of the oldest remedies in the history of humanity: cannabis and laughter.”
Can O’ Comedy provides cannabis educational content and comedic entertainment by way of stand-up comedy. Its aim is to provide good-natured fun by bringing adult cannabis users and advocates of all ages together for a discussion and Q&A of cannabis educational topics. Discussion will be accompanied by food from a local Chicago restaurant, followed alongside a stand-up comedic act.
Can O’ Comedy Inc.’s mission is to bring awareness to the Indigenous communities of the Americas and to provide aid to foster children of Illinois. Stoner Nataly hopes to use her brand as a way to support and make others aware of what is happening to the Indigenous community and in the cannabis community.
Stoner Nataly is of Latin/Indigenous descent whose parents were born in Mexico and has a history in the foster care system and later a US Navy Veteran who served as a Hospital Corpsman for five-years. She was stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and served on two Pacific Partnership deployments with the USNS Mercy out of San Diego, California.
“I want to help fight the negative perception and stereotypes of cannabis,” Stoner Nataly said. “Cannabis has always been a big part of my life, and I believe it’s what helped get me through my teen years, even though it was viewed as harmful at that time, and I would not have known how much it was helping me.”
Can O’ Comedy’s first event, An Indigenous Christmas, is scheduled for December 21. Stoner Nataly and Can O’ Comedy can be reached by phone at 312-900-7198 or found on Facebook, Instagram @stoner_nat_, and Twitter@StonerNataly. To learn about cannabis-friendly events in Illinois, visit here.
