Canna Vibe podcast combines two passions
At the end of 2020, Chino had “nothing to do” during the pandemic, but he knew he “loved to talk about everything in life” and cannabis. So Chino took inspiration from his favorite podcaster (Joe Rogan, Snoop Dogg, Nelk Boys, etc.) and combined his two passions to create the Canna Vibe podcast. Recently, Founder of Illinois News Joint, Jason Brown, sat in with Chino and the Canna Vibe podcast crew to discuss cannabis, Abraham Lincoln, teaching, Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals, and more. The episode just dropped today and can be found here.
“The reason why I choose cannabis (as a theme/topic) is because I am an advocate for our precious flower,” Chino said. “I really support the cause of what cannabis can effect on many people. Knowing that this is a growing industry, why not get everyone’s point of view on it.”
Canna Vibe podcast can be found on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, and iHeartRadio
Of course, to run a podcast takes more than one person, so co-host Jordan has recently joined Canna Vibe, along with other team members Jordan, Eli, and Zeu.
“Although they all have come as guests, they still work behind the scenes,” Chino said. “One of our goal points is for each member to be the host of certain episodes just to keep the podcast fresh.”
Canna Vibe podcast uploads two episodes per month and is looking forward to dropping three or more in the future. The podcast is a home recording studio, but Chino and the team are in the works of obtaining a storefront and curating the podcast in a back studio of the storefront.
“The style that we have here in Canna Vibe is more of a society and culture,” Chino said. “We bring each guest to tell us and the audience their topics of interest with their point of view of cannabis. We also talk about trending news and topics that’s going on in the world.”
Chino usually asks his guests what are three topics they are interested in besides cannabis, and based on the answers, comes up with his question. He also has a few template questions sets aside to ask.
“I let it go with the flow,” he said. “Before, when I started podcasting, I would share a Google document with my guest so we both knew where in the show we would be at if we lost track or if the conversation would start to die down. Now, after doing this for a little over a year and a half, I don’t use or send a Google document. I come up with new questions, and I let the flow develop itself again.”
One of most interesting things Chino has learned from doing this podcast is how people (guests) view the law of cannabis differently, especially the laws that affect the state of Illinois. For more Illinois cannabis industry news, visit here.
