Grow Journal 67: Squirt by Humboldt Seed Company (Part 2)
In Part I of this grow journal, I popped and chopped Squirt by Humboldt Seed Company. Squirt is a sativa-dominant cross (20% Indica 80% Sativa) of Blueberry Muffin and Tangie.
After a 3-4 weeks cure, the Squirt’s purple and dark-green buds provided great bag appeal and developed and even sweeter berries and pastries aroma with hints of plum, citrus, and heavy kush. The reason I wanted to run Squirt for this grow journal is because I’m a huge fan of orange citrus flavors, but after the stem rub and growth during veg and flower, I assumed this chemotype was going to lean toward the Blueberry Muffin parent, and it did.
At first, I was a little disappointed that the flavor did not contain the orange and grapefruit citrus, but after about a week, the heavy sweet berries, pastries, and piney kush grew on me each time I smoked. The inhale delivered the sweet blueberry and black raspberry flavors mixed with a blend of sweet pastries, plum, grapes, berries, mixed fruit, and citrus. The exhale, especially on the backend, carried the same notes but added a flavorful dollop of old-school kush.
Despite the unexpected flavors, Squirt delivered the Work Sativa effects I’d hoped for. The head high was energetic, cerebral, and mood-boosting with mental focus that consistently allowed me to get work done. The head high also suited social encounters and playful activities while away from work. The body buzz took hold much later than the almost immediate onset of the head high. The body buzz started in the extremities with a melting relaxation and then worked its way inward until hitting the body’s core. My muscle pain and aches eased, and the heavy but functional body buzz allowed me to also participate in some physical work as well.
