Illinois monthly cannabis sales dip to lowest since 2023
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) finally announced recreational cannabis sales totals for February 2025. After kicking off 2025 with the highest January sales total since legalization, February sales dipped to the lowest monthly total since January 2023, and for only the second time since legalization, monthly sales totals decreased from the previous year’s monthly totals.
February 2025 sales totals dipped to $130,608,286.57, nearly $5 million less than February 2024 totals of $135,571,931.44. The only other monthly total that decreased year over year was December. December 2024 totals reached $153,249,701.54, while December 2023 totals finished at $153,936,703.20. In February 2025, Illinois dispensaries sold 3,814,569 cannabis items in February 2025. In-state resident sales totaled $103,632,113.52, and out-of-state resident sales totaled $26,976,173.05.
