IDOA releases reminder for cannabis testing labs
The Illinois Department of Agriculture – Division of Cannabis Regulation (IDOA–DCR) posted an information bulletin reminding licensed cannabis establishments and approved cannabis testing labs to review and, when necessary, update their Licensing and Registration Portal account users and contacts.
According to the bulletin, account users have access to web-based functions, including the ability to renew licenses and approvals, submit business update requests, pay invoices, and register vehicles and products on behalf of the establishment. Contacts receive all regulatory, licensing, and compliance-related communications. Each establishment must maintain both primary and secondary license contacts within the portal. Additional Business License Update applications cannot be submitted until all required fields for both the primary and secondary contacts are complete.
Active account users can perform legally significant actions on behalf of the licensee or lab, and contacts receive critical communications. Businesses remain fully responsible for all application submissions, payments, and updates made through their account, regardless of which account user performs the action. Each business must maintain accurate and current designated contacts. Maintaining accurate contact details and appropriate security user access is essential to ensure timely regulatory communication, system security, and compliance with licensing requirements. Failure to maintain accurate contact information or current account users may result in missed communications, processing delays, or compliance issues.
The Department maintains user guides to assist with navigating the portal here. The Business Module User Guide provides step-by-step instructions for updating security users. And the User Guide for Cannabis Business Updates provides step-by-step instructions for submitting a business contact update request. Licenses must be active to submit an online Business License Update application.
