Today, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported May 2022 medical cannabis sales totals. Monthly medical cannabis sales continued to hover in the low $30-million range. In 2022, monthly sales have ranged from $28,187,064.97 to $31,965,526.26. May medical sales totals landed right into that same range at $30,132,347.02 .

Retail sales of medical cannabis included $13,714,224.16 in dry flower and $16,418,122,86 in concentrates/infused-products. Licensed medical cannabis dispensaries served 65,224 unique patients, who purchased 1,109,317 grams of dry cannabis.

May 2022 total sales decreased from 2021 total sales of $34,187,235.91 and 2020 totals of $31,111,926.69. April 2022 totals sales of $31,774,180.50 also decreased from April 2021 totals of $35,281,250.08. Each total monthly sale this year has decreased from matching 2021 months.

Illinois 2021 sales of medical cannabis totaled $397,249,781.70. Add that to the 2021 recreational cannabis salesof $1,379,088,278.61 for a total of $1,776,338,060.31 in combined medical and cannabis sales.
