Review: Banana Cabana Disposable by Matter
To celebrate International Oil Day and International Dab Day on July 10 (710 is associated with oil because when the numbers are upside down, they look like the word ‘oil’), I thought I would review the product I picked up while at Verilife Ottawa: the Banana Cabana Disposable by Matter.
First time I noticed a disposable vape on the menu, I wasn’t exactly sure how it worked, or how long the oil or battery lasted. Was it worth the money? Without knowing, I spend my cash on flower and edibles. But after reviewing the Banana Cabana 300mg vape, I knew exactly what role disposable vapes play, for me at least.
To continue with the “discreet product” theme I inadvertently have going, I don’t think there is a more hassle free and discreet cannabis product at dispensaries than a disposable vape. When I want the most possible discretion with the absolute least amount of hassle, especially while traveling, disposable vapes are worth the extra built-in price. At home, I’d rather use my rig or other vape devices for oils and other concentrates, but on the road or at my vacation destination, disposable vapes are perfect. Discretion in portability, smokability, and lack of cannabis after-smell contribute to its practicality and functionality.
To review the Banana Cabana disposable and match its tropical island mix of banana notes and earthy tones, I wanted to be on a tropical island, or at least a beach. Instead, I was sitting on a farmhouse porch, waving at vehicles flying down the blacktop. It was not the worst place to be. A place I am familiar with. A place where I grew up. But still, it was nice to hit the Banana Cabana disposable vape, close my eyes, taste the tropical fruit, feel the mood elevation and relation, and then dream of palm trees and beaches. Though loaded with 85.79% THC, the head high is not head-dizzying on the first hit but rather slowly creeps in, followed by a rushing body buzz.
At least when I exhale the fruity and earthy flavor and opened my eyes, the smooth hits and mellow and even-keeled high helped with my reality of endless cornfields. The Banana Cabana three major terpenes included beta myrcene, limonene, and alpha pinene, and with .22% CBD, the Banana Cabana offered a heavy but extremely soothing body buzz that a couple times lasted longer than the smooth stress-free high.
The pen has a flat end so I can stand the pen up to keep the oil from collecting at the side of its cartridge. Even after smoking half the oil and putting the vape in a drawer for two months, the battery lasted longer than the oil. The tip of the device with the Matter logo “m’ lit up with each hit every time. Maybe for my next exotic trip to small-town nowhere, I try the other Matter “flavours” vapes, such as Berry Smooth or Honey Dew. I’ll definitely be closer to a garden than a beach.
