Windy City Cannabis and Cresco open new dispensary
Less than two weeks ago Windy City Cannabis opened a recreational-only dispensary at 923 W. Weed St. (yes, weed St.) in the Ranch Triangle neighborhood, and on Monday, June 13, Cresco Labs will opened a Sunnysidedispensary at 7000 First Ranger Dr. in South Beloit.

Monday at 10 a.m., Sunnyside will be the first cannabis shop to open in South Beloit and Winnebago County.
The public and members of the media are invited to attend the grand opening and ceremonial ribbon-cutting event with local elected officials and community members, including South Beloit Mayor Ted Rehl and Illinois State Senator Dave Syverson.
Sunnyside South Beloit will employ 35 people, who will work in the built-from-the-ground-up dispensary that includes nearly 20 points of sale and more than 7,200 square feet of space.
Starting tomorrow, Saturday, July 11, adult-use customers can place online orders browsing live inventory through Sunnyside.
Store hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, seven days a week.
Sunnyside South Beloit requires the public, including customers to wear masks and practice responsible social distancing.
For safety and wellbeing, Sunnyside is limiting the number of customers inside the store at one time.
Employing a consumer-packaged goods (“CPG”) approach to cannabis, Cresco’s house of brands includes Cresco, Remedi and Mindy’s, a line of edibles created by James Beard Award-winning chef Mindy Segal.
Sunnyside is Cresco Labs’ national retail brand, and its brand products are grouped into three benefits to get customers through the day: Rise (sativa), Refresh (hybrid), and Rest (indica).
Windy City Cannabis
Windy City Cannabis opened its first dispensary in the city July 1.
The cannabis company, which has four dispensaries in Chicagoland outside city limits, is open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m-5 p.m. on Sundays.
The Weed Street dispensary is the second recreational-only dispensary to open in the city.
Cresco Labs opened Sunnyside River North dispensary at 436 N. Clark St. in in May.
Along with retail store in Justice, the company operates dispensaries in Posen, Homewood and Worth.
Windy City Cannabis also applied for locations in West district and two spots in the Southeast district.
