Review: Chocolate Chip, Red Velvet, & Peanut Butter Cookies by Love’s Oven
Cookies have always been my go-to sweets. I don’t eat them that often anymore. But when I got a chance to review Chocolate Chip, Red Velvet, and Peanut Butter Cookies from Love’s Oven, I jumped on it.
Picked up at The Dispensary Champaign, each Love’s Oven Chocolate Chip, Red Velvet, and Peanut Butter Cookies was infused with 10mg of natural “hybrid” cannabutter. Each bag had ten cookies. The cookies were a little larger than a half-dollar, with the Chocolate Chip slightly the largest.
The overall cookie flavors passed the “would I eat these if they were not infused” test with flying colors, each cookie supplying well-balanced flavor combinations. I started with the Chocolate Chip Cookies, which were crunchy with a good mix of chocolate chips per cookie. The buttery cookie with hints of vanilla and the semi-sweet chocolate flavors blended well together. The Red Velvet Cookies also contained a crispiness that crumbled into a blend of sweeter-than-expected chocolate and white chocolate chips. The Peanut Butter Cookies carried the classic creamy peanut butter flavors, but the crunch peanut butter ingredients added a more complex cookie texture and crumble. All three cookie flavors took on milk when dunked, which I also enjoyed. No cannabis flavor could be found in any of the cookies.
The small-cookie size allowed for me to eat enough for stronger effects without becoming nauseous from too many sweets late at night. The effects began with a slight energetic high that leveled off in the second half of the buzz. For the first half of the buzz, my mind was relatively clearheaded and functional. The body buzz extended to the extremities, giving my arms and legs a weighted-blanket feeling. Eventually the body relaxation worked its way into the body core, adding more relaxation for mind and body, especially at the end. The backend of the buzz added a little relaxation and mental sedation, but mostly the effects landed in that hybrid zone, not too up or down.
