Review: I-95 by Bedford Grow
Bedford Grow entered two indica flowers into the 2021 High Times Cannabis Cup Illinois: People’s Choice Edition: Orange Afghani and I-95. We reviewed Orange Afghani here at the end of last month. Now, it’s time for the I-95 review.
I-95 is indica cross of Triangle Kush and (Legend OG and Stardawg). This batch tested at 28.66% THCa, 0.67% THC, 0.74% CBGa, and 30.07% total cannabinoids. The leading terpenes included β-myrcene, limonene, β-caryophyllene, α-humulene, linalool, α-terpineol, and endo-fenchyl alcohol. I purposely list the last three because I have noticed a combination of those terpenes consistently deliver a medicinally strong body buzz (Spoiler alert! It did).

Trichomes glistened off the spade-shaped light-green buds. The extremely dense nugs galvanized the trichomes, dark orange pistils, and darker leaves. Though I don’t often recommend grinding flower (unless for joints), I had to run this through my grinder for each smoke session.
The dense buds hid the aroma, but when the buds were ground up, the smell burst forward with a mix of kushy diesel, chemmy pine, citrus, hops, and sour lavender. The flavor was just as dynamic and diverse. The flavor led with sour diesel, kush, chemmy pine, and aso included slight notes of hops and earthiness. The exhale carried stronger notes of cinnamon, citrus, pepper. Sour diesel and lavender lingered in the aftertaste.

The most surprising aspects of I-95 were the effects. Though listed and an indica and entered into the cannabis cup as an indica, I compared the effects with what is considered traditional hybrid effects, a mix of clear-headedness and strong body buzz.
The Triangle Kush and Stardawg parents dominated the headspace of I-95 with a clear, creative, euphoric, and (often) motivating cerebral head high. I dosed with I-95 when I needed to work late at night for the clear-headedness without too much energy that would keep me up.

The cerebral head high was countered with the strong body buzz. As mentioned, I have noticed a set of about five terpenes, when combined for a larger percentage, significantly reduce my muscle aches and pains. Linalool, α-terpineol, and endo-fenchyl are three of those terpenes, and again, I-95 strain delivered a numbing body buzz that deepened with each dose. Often, I didn’t realize the heaviness of the body sedation until I moved a body part.
Overall, I-95 was similar to Bedford Grow’s Ain’t One, Mothership, and Fraction Run and in flavor and aroma and with their kushy, chemmy, and diesel lineages, though Mothership was way more of a mental sedative than I-95. Each of these strains also caused a boost in my appetite.
Patients who enjoy Bedford Grow’s line of kush-chem strains with a cerebral head high and strong body buzz should enjoy I-95.
