Review: LSD Bubble Hash by NuEra
By @Medsforheads
Bubble hash does a body so much good. All it takes is a little ice and water to knock loose the most therapeutic medicine that the cannabis plant has to offer. When that plant is grown with sunlight and a lot of love, the result is a bold smoke that remains effective for hours off of a single bowl. This LSD hash from NuEra, picked up from Zenleaf Highland Park, was an example of old-school genetics and techniques synergized with modern prowess.
LSD, an indica-dominant cross of classics Afghani and Skunk #1, harkened back to a simpler time in cannabis history when effects reigned supreme, encapsulating the quintessential feelings associated with smoking the kind bud: relaxed, relieved, and ready to eat.
This batch of LSD bubble hash tested at 56% THCa, leaving ample room for additional trichome content as well as the residual plant matter that places it in the three- or four-star melt rating designation, meaning it was unsuitable for dabbing albeit highly enjoyable to combust. The gram’s most prevalent terpenes were limonene, a-pinene, b-myrcene, and b-caryophyllene.
In flower, the strain carried a darkly sweet, earthy and mildly fruity taste akin to dried mulberries. However, this solventless concentrate was robust, with rich notes of oak, dark chocolate, diesel, and charred meat that lingered in the nostrils and on the palate.
To employ a bit of traditional Middle Eastern vernacular, NuEra’s sandy-textured bubble hash was equivalent to garda, or loose, minimally-processed material that requires the application of minor heat and compression to reach a finished charas stage with a more familiar look similar to fudge or clay.
The LSD was deep in color with a reddish tint and already partially caked together, having formed a mazapán-like mass that was ideal for scooping out clumps to smoke alone, but required a delicate “scratch-and-tap” maneuver to collect finer particles for infusing bowls and joints. As the clump of hash in my bowl coagulated into a bubbling membrane under my lighter flame, a spacey, rapturous and stony sensation enveloped my brain, like the spinning rectangle that transports Kryptonian lawbreakers to the Phantom Zone.
Instantly soul-settling, the initially heavy anesthetic onset gave way to a functionally sedate experience free of pre-existing stressors with focus gravitating toward preparing a hearty and balanced meal.
