Review: LSD Live Sugar by nuEra
By @medsforheads
NuEra recently announced the arrival of its first-ever hydrocarbon extracts after several years of producing only solventless concentrates. With several flavors of live sugar and at least one badder included in the initial drop, I thought it best to start with one of the company’s staple strains and a reliable performer in bubble hash, LSD. The cross of Afghani and Skunk #1 always hits me just right with its ability to relieve aches of the body, mind, and spirit.
My gram was manufactured on August 3 and packaged on August 19, making its way to my banger two weeks after that. It tested at 82.36% total cannabinoids, including 1.36% CBG, a molecule I often find to enhance the full-body effects of any cannabis product.
The LSD live sugar had a wet, saucy texture with THCa crystals ranging in size from grains of sand to raspberry drupelets sunken in a shallow pool of brass-colored HTE in an even ratio. From the somewhat quirky triangular dish, I could smell the soapy Lysol scent I typically associate with close Afghani relatives along with hints of citrus and sweet, dewy pine that give the sugar a fruitier profile, almost melon-like, than I’ve experienced with the cultivar in the past. A dilute funk beckoned me closer but mysteriously receded into the distance when I approached.
Unsurprisingly from the extract’s sharp aroma, its most abundant terpene was limonene at 2.09%, followed by b-myrcene at 1.87%, b-caryophyllene at 1.17% and a-humulene at 0.48%, proportional to the flower. LSD live sugar’s flavor was not easy for me to place; I sensed chlorine chemminess alongside rosehip tea and charred applewood.
The tension-disrupting effect of a dab struck the top of my head first, sending gentle ripples across my scalp like a pebble in a pond. This feeling oozed down over my face, which was pinched into a small-eyed smile, as the back of my neck turned to rubber.
After a few minutes, I was giggly and easily distracted, a state I welcomed especially after a stretch of mental labor. Already quite dialed in from its debut batch, the concentrate was authentically tasty and robustly effective for unwinding without going over the cliff of lethargy.
