Review: Midnight Blueberry Gummies by KIVA
While I use cannabis for a wide list of medical reasons, sleep has long been at the top. Luckily, several cannabis companies offer products formulated to help get some Zzzzs. I recently picked up KIVA’s sleep-focused Camino Midnight Blueberry gummies to see how they stack up to the rest of the market.
KIVA Camino Midnight Blueberry Gummies come as a 20-pack of gummies with 5mg of THC and 1mg of CBN per gummy. The ingredients are tapioca syrup, sugar, gelatin, malic acid, blueberry flavor WONF, spirulina extract for color, fruit and vegetable juice for color, chamomile extract, citric acid, cannabis extract, corn starch, coconut oil, carnauba wax, lavender extract, and terpenes.
One-inch squares, raised at each corner with a crease running diagonally down the center, carried a deep-midnight translucent blue. The smooth surface and squishy texture were similar to a classic gummy bear initially but became softer and moister as they warmed on the palate.
A kiss of sugary sweetness led the flavor followed by a blend of artificial blueberry and a candied-floral tone. Underneath the sweet fruit and flower notes, an unmistakable herbal-bitter note persisted from start to finish, lingering on the palate for a moment after each gummy.
Slow to build, almost 40 minutes passed before the full effect hit. Initially, a full-body floating sensation was paired with a wave of muscle relaxation and a calm headspace. As the peak approached the body buzz turned completely, becoming a tiring weighted pressure in my arms and legs. My mental space remained calm and clear from start to finish with the heavy body buzz doing the heavy lifting of getting me to sleep. Overall, the Kiva Camino Midnight Blueberry paired straightforward blueberry gummies with reliable sleep-inducing effects.
