Review: Oh Snap! Turbo Charged Shake by Interstate 420
While shake is still the choice for many budget consumers in Illinois, the category has taken on a reputation as a dumping ground for trim and less than stellar strains. NuEra’s Interstate 420 label is challenging this idea with its new Turbo Charged Shake, a THCa infused version of preground flower. Intrigued by the concept, I stopped into nuEra Champaign and picked up a half ounce of Oh Snap! Turbo Charged Shake to sample.
Oh Snap! is a hybrid cross of Forbidden Fruit and Bernie Mac. This batch of THCa infused shake tested at 0.415% CBGa, 0.769% THC, 53.042% THCa, and 54.227% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 0.436% of the total weight with limonene, β-caryophyllene, terpinolene, and linalool being the heaviest.
This half-ounce of finely ground sandy shake carried varying tones of forest and lime green, orange, purple, and a characteristic sparkle when viewed in the light that was the only visual indicator of the THCa infusion. The finely ground texture worked best in a joint or a bowl with a screen.
The aroma inside the mylar was a blend of sweet berry, diesel, roasted thyme, and cedar. The high THCa content made for a sharp hit, making the turbo charged shake better for small hitters and bowls than giant bong rips. The flavor carried the same berry and diesel blend from the aroma with an addition of lemon and a green note that was reminiscent of tomato leaves.
Oh Snap! Turbo Charged Shake hit fast and hard, providing a strong inner pressure that opened in the skull before moving down into my core by the end of the first bowl. The mental experience was racy at first, a side effect of the high-speed come up, but this turned quickly into a stunting fog that destroyed my focus and motivation. Leaving my lips sticky and my eyelids heavy, Oh Snap! Turbo Charged Shake was a good nightcap and an interesting twist on classic shake. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
