Review: Super Buff Cherry by NuEra
Strains, too, can become overnight successes, going from absolutely unknown to appearing on what seems like every dispensary menu. I hadn’t heard of Super Buff Cherry less than two weeks ago, but now I’ve on hand got samples of the cultivar from three different Illinois cultivators. The first one I found at NuEra Champaign by NuEra.
Super Buff Cherry is a hybrid cross of Super Boof and Tropicana Cherry. This batch of flower tested at 1.136% CBGa, 0.436% THC, 23.336% THCa, and 24.908% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 1.016% of the total weight with limonene, β-caryophyllene, valencene, and β-myrcene being the heaviest.

A handful of smaller-than-popcorn flowers were covered in varying shades of reddish purple, deeper royal purple, olive green, turf green, and a small amount of dried rust-colored hairs. The trichome frost was concentrated at the edges of the deep purple sugar-leaf remnants, highlighting the milky coloration at the densest points.
The scent inside the jar was fruit forward with notes of sweet black cherry, perfumed honeysuckle, and blackberry jam. The finish departed from the sweetness with a closing note of hot diesel and chemical tang. The black cherry came through clearly on the palate, while the accompanying floral tones turned vegetal, creating flavors of leafy greens and scallions. The finish surprised with a previously undetected flavor of dark chocolate.
Super Buff Cherry unleashed a fast acting headband sensation, alongside a playful and silly headspace. The tightness hit my crown and brow within minutes of lighting up a joint, spreading outward as a light euphoric buzz throughout my body. Talkative and happy, Super Buff Cherry worked well as a pick me up anytime of day. On the back end of the buzz, a case of munchies set in, and my energy levels dropped off pretty quickly. This was a solid hybrid with some unique flavors and terpenes that could be smoked anytime of day.
