Review: Tonic by Progressive Treatment Solutions
I’m back from trying out several review products while on vacation. But before I get into those, I want to finish a review I’d been working on for months. After purchasing from NuEra Urbana a Mandarin Orange (100mg) Tonic by Progressive Treatment Solutions to review, I enjoyed the drink so much I wanted to try a different flavor before I started writing.
So I delayed the review to sample the Pomegranate Acai flavor. I enjoyed the cannabis infused drinks so much I decided to review all the flavors: Mandarin Orange, Pomegranate Acai, Raspberry Lemonade, and Cucumber Watermelon. But while I was reviewing those, PTS, a majority women-owned business, came out with two new CBD/THC 1:1 tonics flavors: Tropical Punch and Citrus Lime. So I delayed the review until I was able to purchase the Tropical Punch. Long ‘review-introduction’ short, I love the medical benefits of these drinks, especially the 1:1 tonics.
Every so often when I review these new Illinois cannabis product, I find myself getting a bit frustrated that it took this long for legalization. For a three-to-four year span in my life, these tonics could have really helped improve my overall wellbeing.
According to PTS, the infused drinks incorporate a sophisticated liposomal encapsulation technology that delivers cannabinoids far more efficiently than traditional edibles. The cutting-edge delivery system ensures products deliver maximized absorption. This allows for a faster onset. Within five minutes, I felt the effects (and again, as I’ve mentioned before, I tend to feel the onset of edibles faster than other folks).
Each bottle contained 100mg of THC, and the flavors were pleasant enough to drink straight out of the bottle. The first night I tried the Mandarin Orange, I drank about ¾ the bottle, which was too intense at once even for me. On the side of each tonic bottle, milligram measurements are listed to show how much THC has been consumed. I started mixing the different flavor tonics with pops and other carbonated drinks, pouring about 25mg of tonic per cup.
Though the onset was faster and as much in the body as in the head, the buzz did not last as long as traditional edibles either. But when drinking 25mg of tonic at a time, I was able to stretch out longer and more balanced buzzes throughout the night. I really enjoyed the intense head high but the body relaxation these drinks provided were fantastic. After several days in a row of physical activities, drinking a glass or two of tonic took away my muscle pain and cramps. The Tropical Punch 1:1, especially, was extremely effective in helping with the muscles soreness.
The drinks strengthened my appetite. During a small family together, these tonics were perfect to sip on while socializing and waiting for the meal. Once in a cup, they were discreet as any other drink. While consuming the tonics, I sat around a table and chatted, played pool, swam in a pool, read by the pool, binged watch television, wrote this review, and just flat-out chilled. I enjoyed all the flavors and benefits of these drinks and will continue to have a couple of bottles in stock as part of my treatment options.
