A Friend Indeed expands Veterans program
When I founded Illinois News Joint, I made a conscious choice to include an altruistic aspect to the publication but for the first year could not decide on a program that fit what we do. The second year, I created A Friend Indeed, a small program that helps Veterans, patients battling cancer, and anyone in desperate need with personalized equipment, genetics, and other resources to legally grow their own medicine at home. I collaborated with partners, built resources, and officially launched the program in April 2022. Now, in the program’s second year, we finally believe we have a complete foundation of resources set in place to help even more Veterans in 2023 and beyond.
A Friend Indeed focuses on helping individual needs, and if we do not have a product or solution, we also collaborate with Veterans and Veteran groups to find it. A Friend Indeed can help with acquiring medical cards and other support from our partners at Modern Compassionate Care.
Once the patient is legal to grow medicine from home, we also partnered with seed banks, breeders, and grow shops to help with genetics, equipment, grow mentoring, grow classes, and other resources designed for specific individual needs.
A Friend Indeed is only as good as our collaborators and partners, especially those who gave beyond what we thought the program needed, including D.C. Seed Exchange, Great Lakes Genetics, Bad Dawg Genetics, Tonygreen’s Tortured Beans, Deep Space Creations, Afterthought Autos, Red Scare Seed Company, Cosmic Wisdom Seeds, TasteBudz, Super Natural Seeds, Twenty20 Mendocino, Seed Attics, Seattle Chronic Seeds, Secret Squirrel Seeds, Mass Medical Strains, Glenview Genetics, Ziplock Seeds, Aroma Grow Store, Rimrock Analytical, Modern Compassionate Care, and Blooms Brothers Hydro.
