Homegrown Review: Wedding Cake by John Grow #8
John Grow #8 is back with another strain from his homegrown medicine. This time John Grow #8 is showcasing Wedding Cake grown from a “JBeezy” cut.
Wedding Cake, bred by Seed Junky Genetics, is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of a mother Triangle Kush with Animal Mints pollen. This batch, tested at GroUp Gardening Carbondale, came in at 23% THC.
As with John Grow #8’s MAC 1, the Wedding Cake also had great back appeal with a spectrum of green and purple colors packed with rusty orange pistils. Trichomes covered every crevice of the thumb-sized buds.
The wedding cake aroma delivered its classis vanilla cake frosting mix with back notes of earthy pine and minty kush. The flavor led with vanilla, sweet frosting, and zesty kush. Hints of earthy mint, citrus, and pine followed on the back end.
The potent effects were as expected for an indica-leaning hybrid would hit. Plus, this 23% hit harder than Verano’s Thirty % Plus THC Reviews Wedding Cake that we reviewed last year.
The first half of the head high was uplifting, happy, and overall mood pleasing. But as the buzz continued and more doses were added, the head high become more relaxed, and by the end of the buzz, tiredness eventually crept in.
The body buzz grew stronger along with the doses and peaked mid buzz with complete body relaxation. As the body buzz grew stronger, it took over the effects of the head high and eventually brought the buzz toward the indica-leading part of the hybrid.
Overall, John Grow #8, again, grew better Wedding Cake medicine than any Illinois dispensary has in stock. John Grow #8 has been growing his own medicine for as long as he has been a registered medical patient, about three years.
“I started growing my own medicine to help with my medical condition but also to learn how to grow quality medicine,” John Grow #8 said. “Growing at home has been an amazing learning experience, and a very rewarding hobby. I’m just so grateful that the state of Illinois has finally given people access to cultivate their own medicine.”
