Review: Chem Scout by Cresco
After reviewing a sativa (Rainbows & Cherries) and hybrid (Cinnamon Milk) strain from Cresco, I rounded out the trio of flower reviews with an indica cross of two classics. I picked up from Sunnyside Champaign an eighth of Chem Scout.
Chem Scout is an indica-leaning cross of Chem Dawg 91 and Girl Scout Cookies. This batch tested at 30.17% THCa, 0.96%, and 32.39% total cannabinoids. Primary terpenes included β-caryophyllene, β-myrcene, and limonene.
The buds were Christmas-tree shaped and fox tailed with shades of light and dark green mixed with a heavy layer of cloudy white trichomes. The aroma delivered a mix of sweet earthiness, herbal pine, skunk, wet hay field, and gasoline. The flavor hit with earthy skunk and gas on the front end of the inhale and a heavy sweet gas, spice, and skunk on the back end of the exhale.
The effects, though labeled as indica, landed more as a hybrid with a relatively uplifitng clearheaded high that relaxed the mind but without couchlock or thoughtlock, especially for the first half of the buzz. With heavier doses, the high caused a headband effect with pressure focused on the eyes and forehead. The body buzz hit more of the indica effects with heavy waves of pain relief in my neck and arms that led to an overall sinking feeling. The back end of the buzz carried more head and body sedation. Chem Scout worked best in the late evening and at night when I wanted to relax and stay functional in whatever activity I was doing.
