Review: Fire Dark Chocolate by Bhang
After reviewing the Milk Chocolate, Cookies and Cream White Chocolate, and Ice Chocolate, it’s clear I am a fan of Bhang products. Whenever Bhang and Bedford Grow come out with a new flavor of chocolates, I try to review it. This week I picked up from Maribis Springfield one of Bhang’s latest: Fire Dark Chocolate.
The Fire Dark Chocolate flavor put Bhang to the test for me, though, because I am not a fan of pepper and spicy hot foods, especially in chocolates. In addition, dark chocolate is my least favorite chocolate. Without my previous experience with Bhang products and Bhang’s history of winning awards, I would never seek out a product with cayenne pepper and dark chocolate.
This Fire Dark Chocolate came in a box with four individually packaged 25mg pieces. The dark chocolate rectangle broke into four separate pieces that delivered a sweet peppery aroma.
Even before I popped the edible in my mouth, my faith was shaky that Bhang could properly and balance cayenne pepper, citrus, and dark chocolate, but dammit, Bhang did it.
The flavor first hit with Bhang’s classis dark chocolate flavor, but as I chewed, the cayenne pepper flavor increased. By the time the chocolate was broken down and melting, the cayenne pepper reached its peak. After the heat from the pepper subsides, a subtle orange citrus flavor lingered in the background and balanced well with the cayenne pepper and bitterness of the dark chocolate.
The ingredients included cocoa solids, sugar, cocoa butter, spices, cannabis oil, blood orange oil, lecithin (sunflower), and vanilla.
Bhang effects and dosing consistency are built into the product at this point. I know exactly what to expect from 25mg. As I’ve mentioned before, the first half of the buzz pushed forward with energy that made me productive. The hybrid effects delivered an even high that slowly built for a heavy peak.
Again, I enjoyed the body buzz as much or more than the cerebral high. The second half of the buzz allowed me to relax for the night. Bhang products as always boost my appetite toward the end of the buzz, and at night I sleep without the chronic muscle pain and cramps.
Overall, Bhang produced an edible I doubted I’d enjoy because of personal preference, or more accurately personal dislikes. But Bhang balanced the ingredients in a way that fit well together and provided a “kick” to my nightly dosing of infused chocolate.
