Review: Gobby Live Badder by Bedford Grow
By @medsforheads
If you’re a regular News Joint reader, you’re probably well aware of Bedford Grow’s recent mega-terpy batch of live resins. Among some old familiar BG names like Lemon Durban are several exciting new cultivars such as Hot Mint Sundae and Yellow Brick Road. Sounding quite like the name of a sock-motivated house elf, I wasn’t immediately drawn to the Gobby Live Badder, but with a little research found its toothsome ancestry from Threes Genetics, Gelato Mint and London Pound Mints 13. As a lover of a minty moment and rich dessert terps, I felt set up for success when I grabbed the badder from Maribis Chicago.
My gram of Gobby tested at 75.23% THC, 2.29% THCa, 2.86% CBGa, and 80.38% total cannabinoids. The bold, cooling terpene profile included limonene, β-myrcene, β-caryophyllene, terpinolene, and linalool. Gobby also tested high in β-pinene, α-pinene, and α-humulene. Gobby had 17.68% total terpenes.

This batch was produced March 9th of this year, packaged a week later, and sampled between June 7 and June 16. The marigold-colored badder had a slick membrane of naturally-separated HTE with small facets visible in shallow puddles toward the edge of the gram, giving it the loose handling texture of applesauce.
An airway-opening scent radiating from the glass puck recalled a memory of drinking limonata, a tactically refreshing homemade minted lemonade, in Israel on a sweltering hot day. An herbal note of eucalyptus complemented the extract’s fresh fragrance; in fact, I wouldn’t mind a shampoo that smelled exactly like it.

When dabbing the Gobby at around 540°F, my palate was drenched with flavor. Swirls of mentholated gas melded with Fisherman’s Friend lozenges and lemon zest, ballasted by a back note of light toasty cake cone. The first effects to hit me were an eyeball-popping alertness and a lateral cranium pressure. Within moments, my heart was racing and full of goodwill, compassion, and empathy as my mood improved several notches.
As the active high set in, a frontal lobe buzz spurred my creativity and desire to be helpful while a boost in arousal spurred other desires, making for enhanced feelings of intimacy. On days I experienced pain, it was well managed by the Gobby badder, allowing me to concentrate on an activity without munchies pulling me away.

All in all, the gram’s cleanness, intensity of smell and taste, and functional effects added up to one of the better daytime BHO experiences I’ve had in almost five years of medical patient status. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, click here.
