Review: High Fructose Corn Syrup Budder by Bedford Grow
By @Medsforheads
Few strains have had as significant of an impact on contemporary breeding culture as GMO and Zkittles. Symbolizing two contrastive extremes of signature flavor, as well as effects equally viable for medication and recreation, it’s little wonder how the popularity of both lines spread like wildfire among growers and consumers. Not content to choose between the two paths, Bedford Grow cultivated High Fructose Corn Syrup (OZ Kush Bx2 x GMO) and I reviewed the budder concetrate.
Scooped from Greengate Chicago, HCFS performed exquisitely in cured budder, translating the best aspects of the flower with high fidelity. A calming stoicism from the GMO parent anchored the zippy, zesty zing inherited from the OZ, creating a balanced buzz appropriate for truly any time of day.
Testing just above 77% total THC and loaded with limonene and beta caryophyllene, I found the extract particularly helpful for targeting daytime body pain while maintaining an upbeat, euphoric groove and sharp cognitive clarity, though more generous servings yielded a more lackadaisical energy.
The smooth-textured budder was a bright mustard yellow, with a shallow moat of terpene sauce encircling the proud lump of concentrate. To my gluttonous delight, its easy-to-handle consistency left virtually no residue inside the dish when the gram was finished, so I knew I was not wasting a drop.
Over the course of about a week working on the extract, oxidation had minimal effect on its composition unlike some other budders that dry out internally after just a few days of use if not sooner. The only observable change was a slight loss of surface sheen, causing a frosty crack to travel downward and separate later dabs as the tool plunged in.
Light on the lungs and crisp in flavor, High Fructose forfeited Zkittles’s vibrant fruitiness along with GMO’s garlicky funk but retained the essence of a well-rounded OG with delightfully fresh, citral notes and an earthy, full-bodied undertone.
I rarely repeat terps considering the ever-expanding universe of options. Yet, I was compelled to triple up on this budder solely for the optimized relief from fatigue, depression, and chronic pain it provided.
