Sometimes things just work out. I knew I’d be reviewing this Orange Velvet Underground RBX Live Resin by Legacy, but weeks ago, on the same day, both my smoking devices for concentrates stopped working. My procrastination for purchasing a new device paid off last Thursday while at the Budtender Choice Awards when representatives from the CannaDevices booth offered me a Little Dipper and Lunar device. So Tuesday when I picked up the Orange Velvet Underground RBX Live Resin from nuEra Champaign, I was ready for my first concentrate review since November 23.

Orange Velvet Underground RBX, bred by Ethos Genetics, is an evenly balanced hybrid created through a three-way cross of (Sour Tangie and Mandarin Sunset) and Orange Velvet (clone only). This 1g of sauce tested at 78.67% THCa, 1.37% THC, 0.85% CBGa, 0.84% CBG and 81.92% total cannabinoids. Total terpenes tested at 3.03%, including these primary terpenes: β-caryophyllene, limonene, β-myrcene, linalool, α-humulene, and guaiol.

The aroma first hit with a pungent orange and sharp citrus mixed with back notes of skunk, hops, earthy lavender, pine, and sweet spice. The flavor delivered a potent sour orange, lemon citrus, diesel, and sweet skunk on the inhale, especially at lower temperatures. The exhale started with the orange citrus and finished with sweet hops, earthy skunk, and woody diesel, which came out more with higher temperatures. The aftertaste of sour orange and citrus was consistent throughout and lingered on the tongue and nostrils.

Orange Velvet Underground RBX hybrid effects combined a sativa-style uplifting, clearheaded, and creative headspace with a solid indica-style body buzz. The uplifting and mood-improving head high delivered a quick onset. At smaller doses, the high was cerebral, creative, and motivating. At higher doses, thoughts could wonder or stall but were still upbeat and euphoric.

The head high was countered with a strong body buzz that kept the high from becoming racy. The body-buzz also had a fast onset and relieved tension first in my neck and shoulders. The body buzz continued to strengthen long after the head high settled. Eventually, the body relaxation pulled the head high down to a more sedative sensation.

Overall, I medicated with Orange Velvet Underground RBX Live Resin mostly during the day, afternoons, and evenings while working or doing chores.
